Marketing Ideas for Dental Offices

While dental offices are skilled at the treatments and services offered to their patients (cleanings, examinations, restorations, etc.), they sometimes have a hard time implementing some of the necessary business tasks, such as marketing. The reality is that marketing is an essential step for every dental office because you need to keep patients coming through the doors in order to stay in business.

The good news is that there are many ways you can connect with current and potential patients in your local area. Consider using a combination of both traditional marketing and online digital marketing to reach out to your target demographic. Here are a few marketing tips to help:

1. Design a High-Quality Website

Your website is the home base where all of your marketing efforts lead, so you need to make sure that you have a quality, professional website that shares information about your services. Not only should the website be stylish and easy to navigate, but make sure that the site is designed to be mobile-friendly since many patients are searching from their cell phones or tablets.

Include essential features such as descriptions of your services, patient testimonials, online appointment booking, and a staff bio.

2. Use Social Media

Most people use social media websites daily, which is why your dental clinic needs to be sure to have a presence on these platforms. Share interesting information on your Facebook and Instagram pages, such as before-and-after photos, dental care tips, or information about current promotions.

Additionally, you can run targeted ads through social media to reach out to the ideal demographic in your target geographical area.

3. Leverage Local SEO Through Google My Business

When someone is searching for a nearby dentist, it’s common for them to look on Google to find clinics in the area. Make sure that you have a presence in the local search results. This starts by setting up a Google My Business page, which will show your dental office in the organic results and through Google Maps.

Ask your patients to leave reviews, which will help to boost the authority of your GMB page. Also, look for ways that you can add target keywords into your descriptions and content, such as “dentist in [city name].”

4. Use Referral Programs and Other Promotions

There’s no question that word-of-mouth referrals can be a powerful way to bring in more patients. Offer incentives to your current patients if they refer friends and family to your office. Also, give discounts to new patients so they have an easy way to try your services in the beginning.

Consider using a loyalty program to keep long-term patients coming back over and over again.

5. Focus on Education

Everyone wants to know how to take care of their oral health, so one way you can attract potential patients is by sharing information through educational workshops or online. Also, look for other ways that you can be involved in community events.

6. Email Marketing Isn’t Dead

Finally, stay in contact with your current patients through a quality email marketing campaign. Emails can be sent to remind patients about their upcoming appointments. It’s also nice to share newsletters and offers once or twice a month. Use a good email system so that you can send out well-designed emails with personalized messages to help patients feel valued.
