Meet Neil
Neil Hershberger first became interested in a medical career, and specifically physical therapy, after observing the role that physical therapy played in the recovery process for his grandfather following a stroke. This interest was further stimulated while seeing a neighbor regain shoulder functionality following a radical mastectomy. With these experiences in mind, Neil pursued a BS in Health Sciences from CSUN and a PT certificate from the CSUN/UCLA PT program, graduating in 1981. Neil and his family moved to Davis in 1987 and joined the Burger Physical Therapy family in 1997. Neil saw this as an opportunity to work in his community and as he states “for a company that does not put profits over people.” In his nearly 40 years of experience, Neil has worked primarily in out-patient orthopedics. He has extensive experience in spine care, extremity and spinal joint mobilization, balance and fall prevention, youth athletics, strength and conditioning for High School level, total joint rehab, general orthopedics, and medical exercise training. Neil has also received certifications in IASTM, therapeutic Kinesiology taping, strength and conditioning, youth speed and agility training, balance, and fall prevention. When not working, Neil enjoys hiking, playing golf, stand up paddleboarding, riding his ElliptiGO, and spending time with his family.
