Meet Scott Fuqua P.T.
Scott Fuqua P.T. got his first experience with physical therapy while he was a high school athlete. After high school, he was introduced to Carol Burger when they were both employees at the physical therapy practice of Larry Bertolucci. Scott would go on to complete a degree and graduated from Long Beach State physical therapy school in 1980. Working briefly in Southern California, Scott moved back to the Citrus Heights area in 1981 and resumed working for Bertolucci, eventually taking over the practice when Bertolucci retired in 1994. Scott would continue to educate himself on various manual therapy techniques.
Scott merged his practice with Burger’s last year as a means of ensuring that his employees would have future longevity and job security as he moves closer to eventual retirement. With 40 plus years of experience in physical therapy and specialties in orthopedics and sports medicine, Scott had this to say to prospective future physical therapists: “You’d better like people! As a PT you will meet people every day and you need to be a people person, it’s a person related business. You will treat everyone from CEO’s to the homeless and you need to be able to relate.” Scott also believes that working as a physical therapist is about working with someone and helping them overcome their physical limitations. Everyone must deal with their issues but as a physical therapist, you get to share in their triumph.
When not working, Scott enjoys working out, bodybuilding, and working outdoors amongst the pine trees on his property.
